Heartwrenching Hands

These little hands belong to African children with HIV/AIDS. At best, these kids will reach twenty years of age....some will not come close....

Photographing people in challenging circumstances has become a major part of my life.  Being "called" to do this work has changed me as a person. And at times, it has pushed my heart to the brink.

Photos like this are important to me.  Not only does this photo help illustrate a story - it serves as a personal reminder of my many blessings.

Detroit Metro Airport Underground

My feet have strolled this corridor dozens of times. Until this occasion, I never took the time to stop and photograph it.  The entire corridor is a beautiful work of art.  Ever-changing. Waves of light and sound.

I was so wrapped up in taking a series of photos that I totally lost track of time.  When I finally came to my senses, it was a mad dash to my gate.  I was the last person to board the plane for Germany...just a few minutes before the door closed.

Oops. Woulda been tough 'splainin' that one.
