God Beams

GodBeams-3

A couple years ago, I had the good fortune of spending a day with Moose Peterson, one of my favorite American wildlife photographers. We were together on a photo adventure in Red Rock Canyon, in the Nevada desert. I spent the entire day with him. It was one of my best days as a photographer.

Moose calls these rays of light "God Beams."

Good call, Moose.

A cool little story on this, D....Around 8:30 tonight I went over to my little neighbor's house next door to sit on the front porch and chat with her a bit...I was facing the West, and therefore catching the tail-end o' the day being filtered through poofy smoke signals and some blue sky...when I noticed them, "God Beams", like organ pipes soaring up out of all that poofy foofy wonderfulness, just like in your picture....what a show...

...so, ya know, popping over here and seeing "God Beams" was just the stuff tonight.... : )

(um, I *think* -not sure- that name might have been derived from the movie, "Bridges of Madison County", where Clint Eastwood ("Robert") (who is a photographer in that movie) comments to Meryl Streep ("Francesca") that that phenomenon is called "God Light"...) <---silly little trivial aside.....

Anyway, D, cool that you had such an adventure out there with that guy.....Sounds like a perfect day.......

....sounds like you have a lotta "perfect days" under your belt.....

...good for you...
