The Warmth of Indonesia

Warmth_ofBali

The warmth of Indonesia had nothing to do with the 90-degree temperatures and everything to do with the grace of her people. This father and son are a typical example.

BEAUTIFUL! Also Beautiful is this Buechner quote...Grace Grace Grace...need to get my hands on his writings...

...That's really something to consider...it being a gift to be able to receive the gift...

...well then may we all this holiday season be Graced with the gift of Grace....

I'm glad you enjoyed Indonesia, Dan. It's definitely one of my favorite places on earth. I'm not surprised that a man of your character connected well with a country of so much love and grace. Good on you, my friend! It takes a really true to goodness heart to fall in love with a place where others wouldn't even dare to go beyond the resort walls.

Hindsfeet,
Not sure how I found that quote, but it sure seemed fitting. Well, actually maybe it found me. :-)

Ron, I've been a lot of places, but the people of Indonesia have taken their rightful spot at the top of my list. They were absolutely amazing.

It is nice to see the beautiful people of Indonesia through your eyes, Dan. I am not much of a traveler. The only place outside of the US I have ever been to is Cancun, Mexico. I get a little nervous on airplanes. Thank goodness for i-pods and computers! Thanks again for sharing your travels with us.

Family in town so I've been MIA for awhile, but had to take a moment and tag ya back with this Buechner quote I just read in his book, "Wishful Thinking"...ammusing and appropos considering the approaching holiday... ; )

"A Christian is one who is on the way, though not necessarily very far along it, and who has at least some dim and half-baked idea of whom to thank."

Lucky you!! I too enjoy my times in Indonesia. Most of my travels take me to Sumatra. Wil you be going there soon? I've only been to Bali twice but what a place that is!!

Enjoy Indonesia and, yes, the people are generally very warm and friendly.

TC,

No plans for Sumatra currently. My next stop in Ukraine in December. Always good to hear from you!
