Deep Space Nebula

Steam

Um... I guess it's not exactly outer space. I would love to tell you this was shot with the Hubble Space Telescope, but it wasn't. It is ordinary steam wafting up in our kitchen tonight. A shaft of light (I call 'em God beams) bolted through the kitchen window and the steam seemed to come alive -- it created an amazing scene. Well, at least I thought it was amazing. Understand that it doesn't take much to amaze me. When I see something like this, I'm like a kid high on Skittles.

Like the great Edward Weston once said, "You should be able to turn around and see a photograph. Let it come to you".

That is just way cool! Looks almost like jelly fish. Or smoke rings. My favorite time in our kitchen is about this time of year, around 4pm when the sun is full on to the west of us, and those sun beams come thru the old bottles in the window over the sink, with the dust particles floating around like thousands of miniscule bugs. I almost run in there some days to see if it's happening yet!

Now THAT is COOL!! Neat trick, m'friend!! (and I love the "kid high on Skittles" analogy, : ) ,I say I'm like "a toddler chasing a butterfly around" sometimes, easily distracted by delightful little things : ) It's a good way to be, I think ; ) ...off to see if I have any Skittles... ; )

a p.s. to "Wander on the Wayside"...I TOTALLY get the 'sparkley dust particles' thing! Looks like Fairy Dust or something magic...feel like I'm five years old again whenever I see it, thirty one years later still brings the same smile to my face : )

Hindsfeet, I couldn't agree more. "Chasing a butterfly around" is a great way to be. I think there is a big difference between "childlike" and "childish". Ya can't beat childlike... in my humble opinion.

Glad you concur...in which case you might want to check out my latest post.....enjoy ; )

WoW! I love that quote, Carol.

And I promise I'll stay away from the Skittles (and gummy worms) prior to coming to speak to your group. :-)
