I want to sew this little one a thousand dresses of the softest linen, even though she is beautiful without them.

Look at those missing teeth... i would guess that she is my SJ's age.

assuming that "she" is a girl... i got to thinking and in their culture (and sometimes in ours too), boys and girls both wear braids, right?

I've not seen boys in Jamaica wearing braids, Jay. That doesn't mean they don't, I've just not seen it. Currently,it seems the boys (and men for that matter) have very short hair...almost shaved.

Then, of course, there are the Rastafarian men that have their dreads all tucked up into their wool hats (in 95 degree heat). It's an interesting culture - it's a very Christian country, yet the Rastafarians are not Christian at all (smoking pot is part of their worship...seriously)

I guess that is what I was thinking... Isn't it weird how places and people are SO different, even here.

The smoking pot thing is interesting, for sure! :)

When I look at this little girl, I think of a warm, bright sun shining down. She is full of light. She looks about the same age as my little girl. They are full of energy! I wish I could bottle it :O)

...full of light. I like that, Carol. And yes, they have energy in abundance, don't they?
