A Giant and a Dwarf

Confidence

As I was finishing my run this morning, I was walking back to the house and my eyes were magnetically attracted to this little scene - a miniature tree growing from a giant tree...with a bird's nest! Even if it's a random ball of leaves and is NOT a birds nest, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it :-) Since I shot this with a 400mm lens, I'll never get close enough to know for sure...(unless I see the bird). In any case, I thought it was a fun conundrum. I love scenes and images that I cannot quite figure out.

Dear Dan,

As I was looking at your picture, this just came into my mind:

No matter how hard and old we become, we are still capable of bringing our fresh and new ideas.

This might sound silly but that's how your picture struck me.

You really have a very observant eye.

Be well always.

:) I love finding bird's nests. Just came across one in our yard this week with 4 tiny eggs inside!

This is a great shot, and kudos for going for a run. --- wish I could pull some inspiration to do that from somewhere. George would be so proud! :)

SS,
What a great thought! Thanks for sharing that. And I couldn't agree more.
My best,
Dan

Jay, I'm with you...I love finding bird nests. Some of them are absolutely amazing in their precision and complexity. I guess when it comes down to it, I just love birds.

Just incredible, D.........

After checking out your "Bring it" post, I decided to poke around your Nature room here to see what other flora I could find... ; ) ...and happily stumbled onto this little gem...

It grabbed me because I just got done watching a documentary on the study of tiny systems found at an atomic level and massive systems, like solar systems (i.e. "Giants and Dwarfs" : ) ), and how, in the end, they're inter-connected......

So to find this buried treasure was a treat...this profoundly simple illustration of a concept I just watched the top scientific minds of our day laboriously eludidating on...

...and you captured the sum of it all on a run....gotta love it.

...How they discount God from their computations is beyond me, must be exhausting...

...anyway, cool bit of HD here, D...

...not to mention a one in a million shot.

Kudos : )
